Luna Rider: From Lunar Exploration to Disaster Relief

RIDE DESIGN focuses on product design, with work spanning planning and development for mobility, robotics and sporting goods, as well as 3D design and branding. Luna Rider, presented here, is an electric mobility vehicle initially developed for lunar exploration.
Its design pursues dependable access in harsh environments through extra-wide, low-pressure tires, strong off-road capability and a compact body.
As development progressed, these technologies and agility were adapted for disaster sites on Earth. The aim is to support information gathering, communications and rescue work in places difficult for four-wheeled vehicles to enter, such as rubble, severed roads and narrow routes.
Design for space, applied to social challenges on Earth.
We propose new mobility possibilities connecting lunar exploration and disaster relief.
