Design That Connects Materials and Techniques with Everyday Life

A product designer who observes changes in society and everyday life, shaping what each moment calls for through materials and technology. Alongside planning and developing home appliances and industrial equipment at an electrical manufacturer, he collaborates with traditional craftspeople, small and medium-sized companies and overseas workshops to connect local skills and cultures with contemporary living. Awards include the Good Design Award, iF Design Award, Tokyo Teshigoto and Tokyo Business Design Award. At ODW, he presents works beginning with materials such as wood, cork and metal, interpreting their regional and technical backgrounds and translating them into living spaces. Through dialogue with visitors, companies, workshops and buyers, he hopes to create connections leading to international outreach, joint development and new sales channels, building sustained activity.
