First Unveiling of Kumiko Art: Osaka, City of Water — Stories Woven in Wooden Latticework

Founded in Osaka 70 years ago, we make wooden joinery, furniture and kumiko latticework.
In 2025, we received the Osaka Excellent Manufacturing Company Award, and four of our products have been certified under the Osaka Made brand.
While carrying on traditional wood-joining techniques, we collaborate with designers to develop joinery, kumiko and kumiko lighting that suit contemporary spaces and lifestyles.
This exhibition unveils Osaka, City of Water, a kumiko art panel co-created with designer Mika Nakajima.
Its patterns depict Nakanoshima, Semba and Dotonbori, places that shaped Osaka's history, capturing the city's waterside appeal in a single work.
Every region has its history, and every company has its own philosophy and story.
We have launched Kumiko Monogatari, a project that transforms these stories into unique designs through traditional kumiko craftsmanship.
This work marks its first chapter.
We will also exhibit the popular Hana Kumiko series and our original lattice doors.
