KSAC / The University of Osaka Offcut Upcycling Project: etsaw

We will exhibit the work of HAZAITHON, an offcut upcycling project running at Osaka University for 12 years, along with creations from the etsaw brand.
The project began at Osaka University in 2014 and has continued as a KSAC (Kansai Startup Academia Coalition) project since 2022. Last year, it also exhibited at Panasonic Pavilion Day at Expo 2025 Osaka, Kansai, Japan.
In this project-based learning program, students develop products from offcuts generated by local factories. Students, designers acting as mentors, and factory owners and staff work together as one team.
We will introduce 13 years of engagement between students and Osaka's local factories, along with this year's new program.
